We've arrived!

Columbia stop over

The stop off in Colombia was possibly the longest 5 hours any of us had experienced, all flagging and cranky from stiff airplane seats most sat staring vacantly at the gate whilst others slept. The flight was much shorter and we all cheered right up after laughing at Eve fell asleep on the stranger next to her... Unfortunately, once we got to baggage claim we were left with one less bag than expected but we sorted it out and before we knew it we were all on a coach making our way round the bumpy gorge roads, enjoying the views. EVERYONE had their cameras out and snapped away happily. We arrived at the hotel and got into our rooms in buddy groups. Our lovely guide Carlos showed us Quito's local market and took us to a local supermarket, which we were all keen to explore... We had noticed dark clouds coming towards us, it turned into a downpour that none of us had prepared for by bringing out raincoats out with us. As wet as it was, the walk home was very enjoyable and awaiting us at the hotel was our new friend Henry from pure life, who showed us all out to dinner before bed.
